The wood is high quality, and there is an anti-stick mat on the bottom so that it grips the stovetop/range even during travel. It's big enough to cover the range mostly, and if your unit is like mine, it provides some very-much-needed countertop space. My only complaint is that the cutting board piece is a secondary piece - a nearly paper-thin rectangle of clear plastic you place over the wood to protect it, and it could have been made bigger to fit over the entire wood piece. Makes cleaning easy though! I don't know how long this will last (just bought it). I am satisfied with the wood piece itself and how well it grips the stovetop.
